THE
QUEST
Travel is John's passion and he knows what his clients are looking for.
He knows where to find it and the best time of day to be there.
He
keeps it all relaxing and fun, loves to pass on all he has learnt, and nothing
pleases him more than when clients become friends and return home with
memories and photographs they didn't think were possible for them when they
set off for the trip.
INTEGRITY
John believes that integrity starts at the very heart of a person, and
[should] emanate to all things one is involved in. For him, this is also based
solidly in spiritual values which will be reflected in attitude, care shown,
and a general 'can do' disposition.
GOING
BACK TO THE BEGINNING
John
was born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, and primarily raised in
Warwickshire orphanages where his many photographic odysseys have their roots.
That photography bent led to photo travel and subsequently customized travel.
PHOTOGRAPHY
John had to be
‘persuaded’ to join Deudraeth Camera Club in 1979, and this further
immersion with his passion soon saw John turning professional. He freelanced
for Welsh and English publications, and whoever would buy his work and/or his
occasional writing.
The
awards flowed within the Welsh and English Photographic Federations, and also
at the Welsh National Eisteddfod [a festival of the arts] on a regular basis,
plus John’s work also found recognition in several nationally distributed
British photo magazines.
PHOTO
TRAVEL
John’s distinct style of creating ‘third images’ led to many repeat
presentations, and they caught the eye of the Close-up Expeditions owner while
visiting Idaho in 1984, and for whom John went on to lead many photo trips.
Clients soon began to request that John lead customized trips for them, and
thus, in 1991 Travel Images was ‘born’.
CUSTOM
TRAVEL
In the mid 1990's John added the option of customized
travel to his resume in the form Travel Designs, and that has led to the
establishing of TravelDesigns.biz.
